Tancred (aka Jess Abbott) has revealed a new video for 'Pens' as she prepares to hit the road in support of her critically acclaimed new album Out Of The Garden, out now on Polyvinyl Records. The punked-up number, which builds out of its gently crunching power chord intro through marching drums and the brilliantly conversational vocal performance - "In my desk / Many pens there" - comes together to create her moreish brand of neat garage-pop, that nods to the likes of Bully and Mitski. It's a genre in a wonderfully fruitful position and Tancred wholly deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as these aforementioned flag-bearers. -G.O'B
